Le chanteur Thione Seck a été reconnu coupable des délits d’association de malfaiteurs, tentative de mise en circulation de faux billets et détention et réception de signes monétaires falsifiés par la cour d’appel de Dakar.
La chambre correctionnelle de cette cour dirigée par le magistrat Chimère Diouf a condamné le lead-vocal de l’orchestre « RaamDaam » à trois ans de prison dont huit mois fermes et une amende de cinq millions FCFA.
Ayant déjà passé huit mois en détention préventive, le crooner ne retournera donc pas en prison. Cependant, l’un de ses avocats, mécontent du verdict, a décidé de saisir la cour suprême.
C’est un grand ouf de soulagement qu’a dû pousser Thione Seck au prononcé du verdict prononcé hier par la chambre correctionnelle de la Cour d’Appel de Dakar.
Ayant maille à partir avec la justice sénégalaise depuis près de cinq ans, le célèbre chanteur a été reconnu coupable d’association de malfaiteurs, tentative de mise en circulation de faux billets
de banque ainsi que pour réception et détention de faux billets de banque. Les délits de tentative d’escroquerie et de blanchiment de capitaux ont été écartés par la Cour qui a condamné le célèbre chanteur à trois ans de prison dont huit mois ferme en plus d’une amende de cinq millions de FCFA qu’il devrait verser dans les caisses de l’Etat. Il s’y ajoute que ThioneSeck est interdit de toute activité bancaire pour une durée d’un an.
Cependant, le tribunal a ordonné la restitution de la somme de 32 millions trouvée chez le chanteur lors de la perquisition effectuée par les pandores.
Le père de la nouvelle coqueluche de la jeunesse, Wally Seck, n’a jamais cessé de clamer son innocence.
