Jeudi 10 mars, à 23 heures 30, Fatoumata Tounkara jette dans un puits Lassana Wagué, le bébé de sept mois dont la disparition avait été constatée quelques instants plus tôt par sa mère, Aminata Sow.
Son acte accompli, la meurtrière présumée rentre chez elle se coucher. Réveillée en pleine nuit par la maman éplorée, qui lui demandait si elle n’avait pas vu son enfant, elle répond par la négative avant de se rendormir.
Le lendemain, Fatoumata Tounkara participe aux recherches dans tout le village de Niéméniké (Kédougou). Et lorsque le corps sans vie de Lassana Wagué a été retrouvé au fond du puits, elle fond en larmes pour marquer une tristesse qui était en réalité feinte.
C’est suite à son arrestation que son masque est tombé. Et c’est la mise en cause elle-même qui a raconté aux gendarmes sa supercherie. Elle est passée aux aveux mercredi dernier avant de réitérer, le lendemain, ses déclarations.
Fatoumata Tounkara aurait agi sous la dictée de la coépouse de la mère de «bébé Lassana», Fatou Wagué, et de la grand-mère paternelle de la victime, Siya Traoré. Ces dernières sont en garde à vue.
Libération, qui a révélé l’affaire et la suit depuis le début, informe que les trois dames seront présentées ce vendredi 18 mars au procureur de Kédougou. Elles sont poursuivies pour association de malfaiteurs, enlèvement de mineur, assassinat et complicité d’assassinat.
Quid du mobile de ce crime crapuleux ? Les enquêteurs, assure le journal, pointent l’argent et la jalousie avec comme déclencheur deux événements qui se sont déroulés en l’espace de deux ans.
En 2019, lorsqu’Ibrahima Wagué, fils unique de Siya Traoré et orpailleur de son état, a pris une deuxième épouse, cette dernière s’oppose à l’union. En vain. Elle ne cessera jamais de montrer son hostilité au couple.
Deux années plus tard, Aminata Sow donne naissance à un garçon. La situation se tend davantage. Siya Traoré et Fatou Wagué, la première épouse d’Ibrahima, avec qui il a deux filles, craignent pour l’héritage, selon les enquêteurs.
Il fallait donc éliminer le nouveau-né. Siya Traoré et Fatou Wagne «emploient» Fatoumata Tounkara, qui avait l’habitude de garder Lassana Wagué, pour éliminer le bébé de sept mois. Le forfait accompli, le trio pleurait aux côtés de la maman de l’enfant, qui ne se doutait de rien.
