Initialement prévue pour le mardi 23 Février dernier, la cérémonie de lancement de la campagne de vaccination contre le coronavirus a finalement été lancée hier vendredi à Thiés par le président du Comité régional de gestion des épidémies le gouverneur de Thiès Mouhamadou Moustapha NDAO.
Diverses autorités religieuses, politiques et administratives ont rehaussé la cérémonie de leur présence en procédant à la pédagogie par l’exemple : se vacciner, et appellent ainsi tous les Thiessois à faire de même pour lutter contre le coronavirus.
« J’appelle tout le monde et en particulier les fidèles catholiques à venir s’inscrire et recevoir le vaccin», lance Monseigneur André Gueye, évêque de Thiès.
Abdou Mbow, s’inscrit dans la même logique, le 1er vice-président de l’assemblée nationale est convaincu que le Sénégal à l’image des autres pays vaincra la pandémie à travers le respect des gestes barrières mais aussi et surtout la prise du vaccin.
« Si on a eu à éradiquer certaines maladies c’est grâce à la vaccination. Donc j’appelle les Thiessois à intégrer le lot des citoyens qui ont accepté le vaccin ».
L’heure n’est plus au scepticisme et aux discours anti vaccin… La pandémie a assez montré sa virulence, il faut une riposte à la hauteur. Et cela doit impérativement passer par la vaccination , d’aprés le ministre de l’Economie numérique et des télécommunications. « Le vaccin est une denrée rare, si on a réussi à avoir donc cette première disponibilité de 200 000 doses pour le Sénégal, c’est une prouesse du chef de l’Etat ».
La région médicale de Thiès compte à la date du 21 février 2021, 3778 cas de Covid-19 et 228 décès selon le médecin-chef de région Mama Moussa Diaw qui a présenté la situation épidémiologique.
Pour rappel Thiés deuxième foyer du virus après Dakar , a reçu un lot de 12 579 doses de vaccins synopharm pour la vaccination prioritaire à savoir les personnels de santé, les personnes âgées et celles vivant avec des comorbidités.
