Après un an d’absence, le Marathon de Dakar revient avec sa troisième édition du 20 au 21 novembre. La compétition est divisée en trois courses de 10 kilomètres, 21 kilomètres et 42 kilomètres auxquelles participeront des centaines d’athlètes de 70 pays différents. Selon le ministre des Sports Matar Ba, qui a présidé hier la cérémonie de lancement, l’événement initié par l’Eiffage est la base pour renforcer la discipline au Sénégal qui traverse une période difficile. « La tenue d’un tel marathon permet de favoriser le développement de la capitale, mais c’est aussi vital pour le sport. Cela rapproche les gens de la discipline », a déclaré le ministre des Sports. »L’athlétisme du Sénégal traverse des moments difficiles, et nous travaillons avec le président de la fédération Sara Oualy pour renverser la situation.
